"The students are animals and jungle bunnies. They talk back and curse the teachers out. If the school closes, they should turn it into a jail. They are nothing but a bunch of dirtbags."

"Its a place where graduate students would love to go back too. Its like a big family, everyone gets along very well.. and the teachers are the best."

"This school is awesome. It is in the heart of the South Bronx and the kids are really sweet and striving for higher achievement than they have ever reached prior. This school has a very unique approach to educating the kids starting with one hour classes and as much support for the kids as a family would have or even more.. Banana Kelly High School needs the money for this 'diamond in the ghetto' so we can continue our vision to have every student who graduates from BKHS be college bound!"

"Banana Kelly High School is a fabulous school which has many obstacles facing them everyday. Faculty and staff help students become the best they can be under these circumstances, and achieve great odds."

"This is one of the only places in the whole Bronx where students have access to teachers who are neither right out of school and inexperienced, nor those who are burnt out and over due for retirement - at BK the vast majority of the staff are experienced, dedicated to student's reclaiming their power in their own educations and their own lives."
