"Since entering the academy my daughters grades have gone done. I don't think the teachers are teaching enough in the classroom and send home too much homework to try and figure out at home. And why aren't the 6th graders allowed to go out of their classrooms for lunch. They are locked up in the school all day and have to eat at their desks."

"Still as wonderful, if not better, than when I went there - this is a great school. Both of my children attend PS 71; my daughter has been there for 6 years (since pre-k, back when it was still offered) and my son has been there for 2. My daughter is an excellent student and has been provided opportunities for enrichment throughout the years she has attended. My son struggles with school, but has extremely supportive teachers that communicate with me regularly. He's made tremendous progress in the time he's been a student. I am very pleased all-around. Should you choose to enroll your child, you can have the peace of mind that they will receive all the tools they need for school success from the talented and dedicated staff there."

"I have 3 children in the school, and even though it is crowded it is a great school. That is why it is crowded!. My children have had great teachers, and if they need extra help they receive it. PS 71 holds nice activities for the kids and provides a safe environment for the students."
