"I have to agree. Do not have your girls go here. My daughter attended this school since the 7th grade and boy does she regret it. As the years went by, the school got worse every year. They lost support from the communtiy and funding. As a result, the girls lost many privileges. During her senior year, she did not get the support and help for college. The school does not offer enough classes. The staff have favoritism. I won''t be surprised the school closes."

"Although the teachers try really hard with what they have and work hard to educate the young ladies, the administration offers zero support. There is never any money for basic supplies such as paper, books, textbooks, etc, however the administration pays themselves and a few favorite staff members a lot of overtime. Even worse is the fact that the girls are constantly pulled from class for anything from receiving a birthday present from the principal to doing fundraising activities or to just hang out in certain offices, chatting it up. Generally, the girls are appreciative of their teachers' efforts and are acutely aware of the difficulties their teachers face, as well as their own such as multiple schedule changes, schedules not being ready for the first month or more of class, wrongly assigned classes, missing classes, transcripts that are out of date and the list goes on....The school has a lot of potential, but the administration is unorganized, unsupportive, dismissive of teacher input/suggestions and do not make good decisions or even decent decisions with their students needs in mind."

"I also must agree with the comments left by the parents below this is not a good school for young ladies. My daughter attended this school for two years and I had to transfer her to another school because she was not learning anything. The teachers dont have any control over the girls that attended that school. They only enforce rules with certain girls and let other girls get away with the same stuff. The girls take this school as a joke. I wish I never sent my daughter there. Waste of money and time."

"I am one of the Students from The Young Womens Leadership School Of ASTORIA. If the bronx school is not of your needs be sure to come to my school. Ms. Laura Mitchel is one of the best principles in the world. When I was in the 7th grade we went to a place called manice and we stayed there for three days. She came with us for the whole time and she participated. All the teachers in my school are up to par on there studies and before we do anything the teachers make sure that we are all up to the same understanding of everything, and if you need help on something the teachers are always there to help. My school is also very safe to all students. Right now we only go up to the 8th grade."

"I must agree with the parents below, this is the worst school for young girls. The school still has trailors, and their teachers are not up to par with their own studies. The girls in the school are too busy looking at boys from stevenson h.S. And some of the teachers allow them to converse between classes. I too agreewith the parent below who said every girl in the step class went to summer school. My child was one of those girls. I hope that with this academic year, she will learn and not have a problem next year in high school"
