"There is the pros and the cons, but some times i see the cons more often. First, a lot of the teachers are great and they would help you if you need any help. You might want to join the very unique band, it will make colleges really like you in the future(They would want someone in their band, its a great band). When I first looked at the school, from the high school directory, and later got picked as one of the students, I was very excited and couldn't wait to see the school and how nice it would be. However, when i went to an orientation, it wasn't as I expected it to be. I found out that its only one floor and like teachers usually share rooms. The other staff are also messy and they look like that they don't even know what they are doing. So if you look at the high school directory, don't expect this school to be as good as they describe them selves, because they aren't as good. I might just transfer because i'm sick of the fact that they actually tell you about important tests such as the PSAT so late, they told me about it one day before!! For your information, the building is called Grand Street Campus and it is shared by 3 schools, this school included."

"This school is a massive let down. As someone mentioned before the school yard is nice but once you step inside the actual school it feels like a third world country. the halls are dirty, security is sitting around doing nothing. they take their sweet time checking you in. I've had to wait a few times for them to finish putting in their food order with eachother before I was helped. The staff throughout the school was unorganized, the person escorting me usually has no idea what is going on and where they are taking me. The teachers constantly complain about class sizes and work load. This school needs A LOT of work. Schools like these are the embodiment of our failing/struggling educational system."

"i feel that the entire grand street campus is horrible the teachers care but not enough to help the principals are misusing the funds given to the school on foolish things, the three principals should be ashamed of themselves. GSC has a wonderful school yard but step one foot inside the building and it feels like you set foot in a third world country"

"This school is alright. I think its stuggling though. The security in the school is really kind of bad, because students could easly leave and enter the school at anytime they want, i they go through the right exit. The teachers teaching is average, but the teachers care about their students. If your willing to learn and maybe need help, the teachers will help you. But i dont really like it here though. Thats why i'm transferring, because i don't think the work is challenging enough."

"Through the years i attended the school (graduated '08), the academics and students, both improved. Its defects can hurt the students greatly. Many teachers... well lets just say, they shouldnt be qualified for what they teach because little is learned from them, and if the student is not 'above average' little attention will be given to him or her when choosing colleges. Security can be great but then again, can also be bypassed (many students sneak in and out of the school). The school is still good, maybe better. The 'good' teachers definately know what they teach, and are good at it (eg. Stephanie Reisin, Mitchell Schrager). It also offers many activities and clubs for students to participate in. The ugly: at times the school cares more about its image then the kids, but if a kid wants to learn, they will. It is way better than the other two. -Ezmac"
