"I am a sixth grader here in the Scientific Research Acadamy at McAuliffe and have no words to describe it here. The principle is the best man I ever knew. He makes the enviroment of learning spectacular, and I couldn't imagine McAuliffe without him. The teachers are wonderful and understand each child an individual, and treat them as equals. The students are beyond amazing, they are helpful, kind, and encouraging. It is the best place to make a friend. Overall, there are only 4 words to describe McAuliffe: Best of the BEST!"

"I am a seventh grader in the Arts and Humanities Academy in IS 187. When I first started middle school, it was fantastic. The teachers and staff members really do care a lot about the students and they try their best to encourage them to do their best. All the rumors about this school giving tons of homework is all false. The teachers give a fair amount of homework to do each night and there are not that many tests unlike what many other people think. The school is also one of the cleanest school that I've ever been too. Once a week, the school has to clean out the garbage but, that isn't too much of a problem. After all, no one wants a school that stinks!! The trips are also fun and enjoyable and they are also very educational. Every year, each academy goes on an overnight trip to either Boston, Washington DC, or Philadelphia. On these trips, students learn a lot about American History. There is also a large variety of extra curricular activities to do such as learning Korean of playing ping pong. Students are also respectful too each other and their are hardly any fights at all. Overall, IS 187 is a great school with the best principals, students, teachers and staff!!"

"I graduated from this school in 2006, from the Academy for Scientific Research. Out of all my educational experience, I have to say that I.S 187 was the best. We were able to go on educational field trips, the teachers were extremely nice and helpful. I felt very secure and welcomed at this school. Recognition was a big thing, with the announcements of Student of the Month from each class. Some of the things I learned in junior high were repeated in high school, so I felt extremely prepared."

"School is awesome. I read some of the reviews from parents. Some teachers I don't like but kids shouldn't come home crying. Theschool might be very hard and it might be a bit strict but thats good, it's preparing you for life. Parents cant baby their kids forever. Also all schools have garbage bag that leak. Consider yourself lucky if you live near this school. It's far more cleaner than ANY school."
