    "I have now my second child going through Standley. I love this school. My first child was able to obtain all she needed to in order to feel successful in school. Our youngest is off to a good start at SLHS as well. Very good school with a strong community feel."

    "I rate this school excellent. All of the teachers are great. The students are wonderful and my daughter is doing fabulous. She goes for what she wants and is successful The principal ROCKS"

    "My child attended this school two years ago, and as a parent I was extremely disapointed. I would never recommend it for an average student. With a few exceptions, there seemed to be an apathetic attitude among both the teachers and staff. Resource on Wednesday mornings wasn't very helpful. My student often complained that it was useless to go because it was so crowded that getting help from the teacher was rare. As a parent I also found that trying to contact teachers was also very difficult, which led me to believe this school doesn't value parental participation. I pulled my student out of this school, and do not regret it."

    "My summary in a nutshell: Students are all treated equally, some are treated more equally than others. Teachers are a mixed bag. I've had some teachers that are really flexible and really cared; while others would care less about you and would be very hard to work around. The homework is what teaches the class, not the teacher. The teacher will teach what is necessary to complete the homework. If you didn't do the homework, you were punished with not only a bad grade but the teacher wouldn't help for you to catch up. However, there are fewer teachers that don't follow said method. Those are very few teachers that will utilize class time to teach students. The school sports team were also a mixed bag. If the sports aren't boys football, boys basketball, and boys baseball expect very few people to show up at your games. Harassment and bullying are often left unpunished. Near the yugioh table, those kids often get harassed and administrators are right there watching it happen, not even bothering to stop it. However, if the same harassment happens to other kids, oh man are they on the ball stopping that. Bullying is also a roaming problem is rarely addressed at all by the staff."

    "I graduated from SLHS in 2009 and cannot recommend this school to any parent with progressive or intellectual values. With the exception of the AP courses I took, my schoolwork was a joke and my grades suffered because I didn't do it. It wasn't enough that the subject material was easy; the teachers I had did not care. They would go off topic, make jokes, assign mundane tasks so that they could go work on other interests. In general, the school was lacking academically. I am now at CU Boulder, but I am convinced that at a better school I could've gone to a Top 20 research university. The more serious issue, however, is how I was treated as a gay person at Standley. There is an anti bullying policy, however, except for a few counselors nobody takes it seriously. I was called a faggot as I walked through the halls, and was even once called a faggot by a teacher. The community at Standley abhors diversity, and I felt alone and depressed most of my time there and know that every other LGBT student, nonreligious students, students of color, or just people that diverged from Standley's white, Christian, patriarchal values felt the same. If you value diversity, pick another school."
