"Love the Fannin Elementary school academically but they need to do better about the food. My son has disabilities so he has his dislikes about textures when it comes to foods, he has never liked cereal. So for him to come and eat breakfast and they give out 2 french toast sticks, cereal,of course juice fruit and a milk. But remind you he doesnt like cereal so all he gets is 2 pieces of french toast sticks, i asked the cafeteria lady but he doesnt eat cereal so shouldn't he get more and no only 2 was her answer. I mean i dont have a problem with feeding my child at home. That's not the problem the problem is what about the other 400+ students that come in and dont like cereal neither. Just the other day a Father was in her complaining because his daughter got a buiscuit hard as a rock. If the kids dont eat cereal there should be a more suitable option, to get the kids thru the rest of the day. We dont know if most of the kids go to bed hungry at night and then get to school and still aren't being fed properly. A couple of the parents speak up and are told to talk to the principal, but still no changea so now what????"

"Fannin has made great gains the past two years. Great teachers and parents! Proud to be a Fannin Falcon! Preliminary test results for 2013 show growth in every subject and in each subgroup. There is active parent involvement and volunteers. Fannin has a family atmosphere that puts kids first!"

"Two of my children attended Fannin Elementary 1996-2006. I was very pleased with the education that they received while attending Fannin. Their teachers were very good at communicating with me and answering any questions that I asked. They were very prepared for middle school and both are taking PreAP and AP classes. The level of committment by other parents was the only concern that I had. Some children are aware that they can only be disciplined to a certain degree and take advantage of the system. Parents would tell me that as long as the child was at school then it was the schools responsibility to discipline the child and they wanted no part of it. The principal was supportive of the PTA and took the time to listen to parents. What you as a responsible parent are willing to invest into your childs education is what you will receive."

"Not all teachers hired are highly qualified. I am outraged that they hire teachers that do not speak English to teach bilingual classes."

"I agree. It is disappointing how discipline and incentives are handled at Fannin. The principal is not supportive of teachers. He allows and encourages students to be disrespectful to adults and other students. It is also very disappointing the principal took away recess from TAKS grades- 3-5th."
