"My 4 years of high school have been the best of my life. I've had some ups and downs through it, but I managed to get back up and keep fighting. I, with behalf of some of the other students love this school and wouldn't have any problem coming back and visiting all the teachers again."

"The majority of the teachers are committed and knowledgeable about what they teach. They try their best to make sure every student understands the material and they are willing to make extra effort in instances in which the student needs the extra help. Most teachers use computers to teach while referencing the textbooks throughout the year. Communication is average, consistency in grading is very mush prevalent, and lastly, the interest in the students is very much present for the majority of the staff/teachers."

"I don't think that the teachers lack concern or dedication, they just can't be a parent and do a parent's job when they're supposed to be the teacher. I understand that's somewhat a part of it but there's just only so much they can do."

"My children are getting a decent education at BHS because my kids are good students who are in all honors classes. If you're not in honor classes, it's a nightmare. They quickly found that out at the beginning and made it a point to be in the honor classes to stay away from the students who didn't want to learn. My daughter has a friend who has NEVER turned in an assignment, yet passes every year. He was to be sent to the alternative school but his mother forgot to register him so he just went back to the regular high school until he dropped out to get his G.E.D. If he didn't drop out, he would have just kept sitting and sleeping through classes without working. They call the kids and pick them up and bring them to the alternative school if they don't show up and they let them out early. What does this accomplish? The system is a joke for the children who's parents don't make it a priority to train their children and help the system help them. No child left behind just makes it even harder on the teachers and other students."

"I got my degree and got out. I am not sure I would want my children going here with the rising population of minority students because Chicago is offering more food stamps to those who move to Iowa and they are all landing up in our town. It is turning into a unsafe school."
