"I have one child at NTHS and one entering in the Fall. I feel that the Principal, Assistant Principal and the Guidance Counselor do an OUTSTANDING job. Any and every time I have contacted them I have had my question answered or my problem solved within the hour. They are very attentive, approachable and on top of things. I believe this school is getting better by the year. The same goes for the teachers. Their willingness to work with students varying interests, especially with regards to Ski Academy and Independent Study really works well and it shows."

"North Tahoe is a great small school. My kid enjoys the atmosphere and is able to accomplish her goals regarding AP classes and staying ahead. Although we have a mix of populations, the kids all seem to get along. Great music, art and athletics for a school of this size. Can't go wrong especially if parents stay involved."

"In the last few years, NTHS has improved the academic quality of the classes offered. The number of AP classes has doubled and the administration is actively listening to students and parents. with a number of new teachers, students are achieving and standards are high. The band program is outstanding, winning many awards each year. As well as some of the athletic teams and coaches are award winning (Cross Country). They have added 3 new sports to the line up this year; Swim Team, Lacrosse and Trap Shooting. The school newspaper has been reinstated. I believe we are moving in the right direction in this District and our small school is challenging my child."

"North Tahoe High School has improved tremendously over the last few years. We are a small school with a large number of AP classes along with many options for student athletes. Several sports teams; Nordic Ski Team, Alpine Ski Team, and Cross Country teams, have produced top athletes on the National level. The Ski Academy continues to attract top athletes. The team of administrators, counselors and teachers are stable and have all of the kids, low achieving as well as high achieving, best interest as their number one goal. There is lots of parent involvement especially in Boosters (Athletics)and in the Band Program. I believe both my children will be successful here. We enjoy the small school atmosphere and it is a relatively newly built school so it is clean and up to date."

"While size limits the number of electives and foreign languages available, it enhances the involvement of teachers and parents. Our kids can play on any sport team, be part of yearbook, leadership etc. Hug High School in Reno has broken their 1200 student population down to 4 schools to emulate this small school model. Every year our seniors are accepted in top schools. Every year our parent driven support clubs (Boosters, Fan Club, VIPS) raise more than $50,000 (sometimes way more) to support great programs, in addition to the money we get from Measure A. With a brand new theater, new classroom wings with state of the art technology, teacher driven trips each year abroad, a fairly young teacher population as well as staff, I think this high school is on an upward spiral. Ride the wave folks! I have 2 students there, both on their way to college."
