"My sister and all my friends went to this school. It's one of about 5 "Laboratory Schools" (run by a University) in North America (the concept was invented at U-Chicago, there is also U-Toronto but it separated, Cameron Crowe graduated from U-San Diego, etc.) This school ROCKS and student SAT scores are off the charts, averaging 2100, the ACT is similarly high at around 30-31. In my sister's era they were top-5 in the nation in chess and french. If your child can handle the pressure, there is no limit to where they can go with an education at UNI High School."

"Because it has competitive admissions, the students at Uni are almost universally highly motivated. That's one of it's best aspects. In our experience, the teachers are average, administrators are on the unresponsive side. Course choices are limited compared to local public high schools."

"What can I say, Uni high is hands down one the best schools in the country. Uni isn't a big SAT test prep school. Instead Uni teaches you how to think, in other words how can you critically analyze a problem in order to reach a solution. Not say its all science based, the language arts were also phenomenal. The school is on the us news and world reports list of top 10 public elite schools. Public elites are schools that have average SAT scores that are so high, the assumption is no average students attend the school, and the school is not allowed to be ranked among regular public schools. I always thought this was a little unfair to Uni in that it keeps it from getting the cred it deserves. Beyond the stats, I think what drives the school is a combination of smart kids and enthusiastic teachers. They encourage you to think outside the box. The school can get competitive at times, but hey so is life. I no longer live in C-U, but if I did, I would send me kid there in a heartbeat."
