"I absolutely loved attending my high school. The teachers were driven to help and encourage students learn in a fun and comfortable environment. Our athletics department still continues to be outstanding as well as the different extracurricular activities that are offered. I do think that each student should go into high school with an open mind and a positive attitude. It is important to be involved in something that you love to do while obtaining your education and diploma. I for one loved being involved with Science Club, Art Club, the tennis team, soccer team, CHS Press, and Freedom Writers."

"It was okay. I think more time with the guidance meeting would have helped more."

"I did not like this school. I know that a lot of students liked it more than I did, and some positively enjoy it. Nothing about this school lies on one end or the other; nothing is abysmal, but nothing is excellent either. It's a very plain, basic facility in a very plain, basic town filled with very plain, basic people. When observed from that perspective, the school is adequate for its purposes, but is in great need of improved funding and has many issues that need to be resolved. Also: the automatic door lock system does not make anyone feel safer. All it does is lock people out of the building when they go outside. This is very unpleasant in the winter when the windchill is below zero. Colossal waste of money."

"Huge variety of teachers and styles. Some teach by the book, some develop their own complex lesson plans, some hardly ever teach. Some are quite knowledgeable about their subject, while others struggle to answer questions that are more than just basic vocabulary. Interest and communication skills vary greatly by teacher. I'd say probably the majority of teachers do care about their students and their performance. The thing that most teachers share in common is a lack of grading consistency."

"Student involvement, peer pressure, and acceptance is average. Discrimination exists but it is more prevalent in some circles than others, and it is relatively easy to avoid. Overwhelmingly white; minorities are often treated with near-celebrity status (especially black male students) by white students, while they are more likely to be discriminated against or mistreated by faculty. Homophobia is widespread and ingrained into much of the male population, but is never violent and is usually limited to teasing and general avoidance."
