"GPS needs a new headmaster and administration at all levels. Don't make it a point to be so mean to the students."

"Maybe I'm saying this because I've been at GPS for 7 years and don't really appreciate it compared to a public school, but GPS is rough. It is an insane amount of work. I rarely go to church on the weekends because I have so much studying to do, and then if I tell my friends that, they are offended because most of my friends are crazy religious Christians. Most girls show up with little to no makeup on a their hair not brushed. Not to say that they should, but many students here to not take pride in their appearance. Also the same sex education causes many awkward social settings. The administration has really taken a bad direction. The teachers are great, but the tests are challenging. The school is very competitive academically, and strict socially. We cannot have are phones out in the building, our skirts must be insanely long, and if I had it to do over again, I think I would choose Baylor, but who knows? I wouldn't recommend GPS to any girl."

"This school is a great big jumble of contradictions. "Be yourself, be unique." No, that's against the rules; you must look like everyone else. Even your socks have to be a certain color. Not to mention the unfair "three inches above the knee" rule which, by ratios of height, lets young children and short young women walk around like sluts while taller students with long legs have to walk around in nun-like skirts. "Our school isn't affiliated with any religion." Yes, because so-called "meditation moments" aren't how crazed-Christians are trying to enforce moments of prayer in assembly and definitely don' make the vastly outnumbered non-Christians uncomfortable (please not the extreme sarcasm here.) "Here we have freedom of thought, opinions, and speech." As a non-Christian, I do not believe in the Christian God, therefore pledging myself to "one nation under God" feels morally wrong, unnatural, and disrespectful to the Christian religion (as if I was an imposter). If someone says something about not believing in God, people (teachers included) become instantly rude and distant towards the person (hence why most hide their non-Christian affiliations if possible.) Also, the one time I didn't bother to pretend to say the pledge as I have done for many years (to try to be polite to others), a teacher verbally accosted me after assembly, going as far as saying I had been disrespectful to all present veterans (despite the fact that I have many veterans and current active-duty family members and the fact that I myself tried to enlist due to my great respect for such people- something I highly doubt that teacher had ever considered- but was turned down because of health issues). Overall, I feel comfortable leaving my expensive electronics laying around while I'm not around but I am extremely uncomfortable seeking outside help from teachers, speaking up in class, or being myself (mostly as a non-Christian), and I believe that says a lot about GPS as a whole."

"Attending this school may have prepared me for college, however this school as caused me so much emotional and physical stress induced by the high standards they set. This school is a good fit for those students willing to work hard 24/7 and have hardly any life on the weekends. I would have had a more positive experience at this school if the faculty and staff had provided a more nurturing and positive environment rather than a competitive stressful environment."
