"I can understand why statistics report low ratings and criticize chicago public schools. For parents who have to send their children to the attendance area schools because of financial or other reasons. It is a disgrace and disservice to the children and the parent to have to be subjected to troubled institutions. This school is below in every area possible. But I do believe that the new principle Mrs. King can at least make a positive contribution to ensure that this school not only increase scores but morale as well."

"It is true that there is a lack of respect for most of the faculity, but there are some very outstanding teachers there. Ms. J. Martin, Ms. King, Ms. Shell, Ms. Lewis. There needs to be more teachers like them. There also needs to be no weeding out of students who are not interested in learning."

"Dumas school is a school that I would not have pick for my child. But this school is no place for your children because there are no books. The principal is a joke the students have little or no respect for her or the staff. When you walk into this school there is little or no control in this building."
