"As a parent of Gunsaulus, I feel it has made great strides in academics and after school programs over the past years. The students are offered a great varierty of school programs. Being a magnet school, there are high expectations from everyone."

"I am very disappointed in the current administration at Gunsaulus. The lower grade classrooms have entirely too many students, and formal education consists of children "teaching" each other as a result. There are children with English as a second language in classes with children whose primary language is English, and this slows down the educational process and actual learning for all of the children involved as a result. As for the upper grades (6-8), I do not feel the teachers want their students to succeed. They would rather give them a F for one missing assignment rather than giving the child an opportunity to make up the work and improve their grades. Seventth grade is an extremely important year for students who are going on to high school; thus, I found this lack of concern extremely disheartening. When I tried to contact the administration regarding my issue, they would NOT return my call. My phone # was on file at the school and no one cared enough to communicate with me or return my call in a timely fashion."

"I am a student at Gunsaulus Academy in the 7th grade. Teachers in Gunsaulus Academy are the best. They are cool and they respect us. The community here are nice and the are respectful to us student s. New teachers have come and they have built the Gunsaulus communtiy better and fun. Now i enjoy school and their after school programs."

"Gunsaulus Academy now has preschool and a lot more afterschool programs. So, I think it is an excellent school."

"This is my daughet's first year here, and I am planning to send my children somewhere else next year. The school is not welcoming and the teachers will not talk with you. It is to hard to get in to talk to the principal if you have a problem and the people in the office won't help you ether."
