"Terrible principal. His first priority is to display power and help his friends. No regard for quality of education, parental concerns, keeping good teachers, or what should be the top priority -- the students."

"I have a child in special education who has now has his teacher switched twice in the last two years. There is a culture of laziness supported by the principal and a complete disregard for the needs of special education students. The principal clearly values his friendships with the staff more than the needs of the students. In addition, the principal has taken special needs supplies out of the room and has required the special education students to take on additional students, not part of their program. When I tried to contact him about why my son's teacher was being replaced, he told me "it was not subject to discussion." He has also gone on vendettas, abusing his power, to ensure that the replaced teachers cannot find work. Bottom line: the students well-being and education, especially the special education students, are not a priority at this school and I think that the principal is a little mentally imbalanced, or at least on a power trip. Stay away!"

"North River is an excellent school with an emphasis on academic achievement. The administration and teachers work hard and constantly meet to refine the instructional focus. Teachers and students have an excellent rapport and teachers make themselves available for parent-teacher conferences. Student discipline is strict, but fair. I recommend North River School - it's an excellent learning institution."
