"Parents, Go and talk to the principal. If you don't, he will think you don't care. Half the parents probably don't care--make sure you are in the other half. Understand that parents must be active in schooling their children when the public schools fail. Organize some home-study groups for the kids. Don't settle for a bad school--be proactive for a better future for your children. Organize a group of parents from your child's class to meet with the principal. (An O'Keeffe graduate--1954)"

"This school is TERRIBLE! My daughter is currently a 7th grader there. They don't even hae books for the students to take home. My daughter has come home numerous times with homework, but no textbook to do the work. She has to take the constitution test this year, during the christmas break the teacher gave her a packet with questions to answer to help her study. Once again their were no books for her to bring home. Luckly we have a computer with internet access, but what about the students who don't have that luxury. Her teacher says I should say I should say somethig to the principle about that but, if he is supposed to be there putting education first, why should I as a parent have to tell him what he already knows? I'm getting her a transfer."

"This School is absolutely Horrible. I am an Alumni from this school and when i graduated, i had no clue of how to succeed in high school. I was in the 7/8th grade "gifted" program(similar to honors or an"advanced placement" class) and after graduating and going to high school, i couldnt use anything I learned from this school to help me manage time or be an ACTIVE student. This school is the epiphany of failure and only the students who have hope will find success.... Parents, fight to give your child(ren) that hope and inspire the school to get better staff"

"This school can always be better, much, much better. Always remember, this first starts with the parents. While there are some parents that actually spend that extra time and go out there way to be on one accord with the teachers, there are some that don't. This is only half of the battle. There is a strong need for some type of policy to have a stronger means of discipline for these students. There is not control what so ever. Some of the teachers either just plain out don't care or will treat the children like criminals and animals. I've seen it for my own eyes. There needs to be a basis for understanding and learning and currently, there is none. My son is in the 8th grade and I cannot wait until he graduates. I have two other children currently attending and I'm transferring them."
