"The teachers are doing a good job, but I don't know if that will continue without the nun who will no longer be part of the school. I think there is a leadership problem. The principal or head of school seems to only talk loud and do very little to increase the academic environment. It has been five plus years and she is still one of two unqualified school administrators in the Archdiocese. She has a lot of energy and a personal friendship with the priest. I do not question her Roman Catholic faith. I think she does not have the experience or credentials to run a school. The Terra Nova test scores are below 70% and that is not acceptable. The children deserve better leadership. If the teachers must be certified, then so should the "head of school" who makes promises, but just doesn't deliver."

"Not a very strong education base and not very well organized. The teachers are nice, but a ton of disorganization creates a feeling of anonymity."

"I love St . John Berchmans it has a cozy warm feeling in the hallways and the dedicated teachers who seem to enjoy teaching young and sometimes restless minds . There is a sense of respect for the multicultural school it is since it it is in a mostly working class neighborhood of Hispanic families . The principal Mrs . Roketenetz is an energetic cheerful woman who seems to remember what it is like to be young and all that entails . Rev . Wayne Watts is a happy role model of what it is to be a pastor to a large flock . With learning there has to be discipline and respect for your fellow students and the children in my daughters 6th grade class seem to really like each other . The curriculum is well rounded with art and science every week . The school has two campuses both kept neat and tidy . They have a very organized way of keeping parents aware of events and fundraising . My husband and I are very happy and grateful for this school ."

"Couldn't be happier. Not just a school but a true community, great kids, great staff, great teachers, great parents, great parish, love it! My son will be in his fourth year in the fall!"
