"This school has helped me raise 3 wonderful children. They all started from Kindergarten . My oldest son graduated from Woodlawn and now attends Vanderpeol Magnet. My middle son now attendes Ogden international. The youngest is still attending woodlawn. The staff is lovely and constant. They are there to assist and are good at it. Love the school and the village it has become. It takes a village to raise a child!"

"The administrative staff and teachers at Woodlawn go far beyond regular academic. They are thoughtful and patience educators that truly care about the students. The principal and assistant principal are hands on and when it comes to the student. They're always aware of what's going on in the school as well as in the community. The school and community works together as one."

"Are you kidding me. The BEST solution for me was to transfer my child out of the school. My child was too smart to deserve the kind of education they were trying to provide her with at woodlawn. She had to be learn basic skills when she was clearly at gifted level because 75% of the kids in her class were just learning them. The principal was more concerned about numbers more than anything. He was never available and the office staff was extremly rude all the time. The school my daughter is at now is very diverse, funded properly and she and I both love it. They need to close Woodlawn down ASAP!!!!! No joke!!!"

"Let me 1st say, yes the school is under funded but this is the problem with most city school. The solution is not to remove your child from a school because it is under funded. But we as parents have to step up and get the school help but complaining to city officials. It is hard for a parent to find a school that takes interest in their childrens education let alone them as an individual. The children at woodlawn are great children and the principal and teacher's both have to be commended. If you ant more funding, get on a committee and make our politicans accountable for our school funding."

"I was not a fan of Woodlawn Elementary. My daughter went there for Kindergarten and I transferred her out. They do not have alot of resources at all. The school is under funded in so many ways than one. The after school program only allows just a handful of students in, First come first serve is a joke. I knew that my child deserved better and she just loves her new school. Hands down its the best transfer I ever made. Her teacher Mrs. Akbar was excellent though. She truley belongs at a better school."
