"It's not the worst school but it's defiantly not the best. This school is just filled with underprivileged minority kids in a school that likes to talk a lot but has nothing to show for it. Yes, this school offers very little AP courses but unless the AP course are taught by any of the english teachers or taught directly at the college it's a useless AP credit because a lot of the teachers are a joke in this school. For the past 4 years I had at least one teacher every year that didn't know how to communicate with the students at all. There are barely any real clubs and student government has no voice until senior year. The school is filled with students that do not care however, many of the teachers like to talk well about the school but have little to show for it themselves. I'm happy I graduate and never have to return to this school. Making friends and memories was the fun part of my entire experience."

"This school is definitely not the worst bu tit's not the best either. The majority of the teachers do try to teach and are experienced in their field. A couple of them are just bad. They don't care and don't try to help the students, in fact they do the exact opposite. But for the majority of the teachers, they are qualified and are willing to improve in order ot help the students to the best of their abilities."

"It's not just the school itself that is good but the students. Some of the students at the school are really great students. Not just in school but outside of school as well. I feel like the school lacks clubs and extracurricular activities and sometimes when there is something going on, it's not promoted well enough. They use the loud speakers but sometimes you can't hear the announcements depending on where you are in the building"

"If you asked me what made my school unique in the 9th grade, I would not be able to tell you anything. I wanted to leave this school so bad. It was my 2nd round choice in 8th grade and I planned on transferring as soon as possible. Once I found out that that was not a reality for me anymore, I began to look at my surroundings and get to know A. Philip Randolph. My favorite experience at Randolph has been throwing a fundraiser for students who had to pay 98 dollars for each of their AP Exams. At my school some students only had to pay 15 dollars for their exams, while others had to pay 98 dollars due to income. My school failed to inform students of this so I, as well as other selected students had to pay for two to three exams in a span of two days. In order to subsidize the hefty price, my english teacher, my friends, and I created the fundraiser and asked teachers in my school for donations. I was honestly grateful to all the kind teachers who gave money to the fundraiser because it showed that they cared about the students and wanted all students to have an equal opportunity to take the AP exams. Many teachers were so willing to be a part of the fundraiser and give back and I could not help but be grateful. I, as well as the other students were able to take the AP exams with our classmates. This memory has been significant to me because it shows that the teachers in Randolph WANT to help students and are WILLING to sacrifice their time and money for a good cause. I love the teachers at Randolph. Randolph has honestly become a second home to me because of all the welcoming and helpful people in that building."

"I had low expectations at first but after one year I changed my mind. Now I enjoy the students and teachers."
