"More often than not I have had a wonderful experience with the teachers and staff at Elmwood Elementary. I have however been very annoyed and disappointed as of late at the lack of organization and awareness of the staff. I understand that there are less finances for the school system and city as a whole. I understand that being a teacher is a hard job. However, my child's well being is of the upmost concern to me. This includes his safety as well as mental happiness. I have received numerous phone calls from the school throughout the year informing me that my child has an unexcused absence on days that he was actually in attendance. The latest disaster in communication happened last week. Whereas my son's class had a field trip scheduled and he was not allowed to attend. The (permanent sub) teacher told my child "Mommy didn't sign the permission slip". My son was more upset than I had ever seen him on this day. Not only because he was left out but because he knew he turned it in. He talked about the field trip for a week and was so excited that morning. Only to be utterly disappointed, and lied to in order to make him believe his parents were at fault."

"We had to make a switch to Elmwood and I think I was actually more scared then my kids were.. Teachers and Staff, principal and even the parents and kids are wonderful to be around. :)"

"I love Elmwood! My children love their teachers and I have had nothing, but a positive experience. My daughter is in Kindergarten and loves Mrs. Neluna and can't wait to go everyday. The person who posted the last post doesn't know what they are talking about. Mrs. Saxton is a great principal and has always listened to my concerns and responded in an appropriate way."

"The principal at this school was a joke, she didnt care about the students at all & made me feel as a parent like I was just wasting her time and some of the teachers there really should not be teachers at all, there are a few good teacher though"
