"MY GRANDSON WAS A FRESHMAN DURING THE 2010-2011 YEAR.MY PROBLEM IS THAT THE TEACHERS DON'T INFORM YOU HOW YOUR CHILD IS DOING IN CLASS UNTIL PROGRESS REPORTS ARE OUT. THE PRINCIPAL DON'T FOLLOW-UP ON YOUR REQUEST IN A TIMELY MATTER .ALSO THE TEACHERS DON'T ALWAYS SHOW UP FOR PARENTS CONFERNCES."

"I am an alumni of Surrattsville's graduating class of 2007. There are many, many things that I could say about the school that would not be in anyone's favor. Surrattsville does not care at all about the students safety. There are always fights and drama going on, I particularily was envolved in alot and it wasnt solved until the end of the school year."

"Since my son has been at Surrattsville High School in Clinton, he has matured greatly. I was hesitant about whether I was making the right decision to remove him from private school and put him into the public school system. I believe I made the right decision with Surrattsville. Along with my son being happier in that environment, I have been able to reach teachers, administrators, and counselors if I needed to. I'm glad to see how steps are being made to consistently improve the conditions of the learning atmosphere."

"I think Ms. Swift-Howard is doing the best she can. She leaves no stone unturned as long as she knows what is going on - she will do her best to assist you. However, I think she needs higher achievers around her. Perhaps those that are assisting her are burnt out to the point of 'they don't care' anymore. I know I have personally made contact via email and phone with Guidance, just to make an appointment to speak with my childs teachers and to date NO RESPONSE. The school appears to be overcrowded, since since the teacher student ratio in some classes are 1/35 students! There is much that needs to be done to make Surrattsville a better school. Our schools should compare to Virginia schools and unfortunately we do not come close."
