"The teachers at my school are consistent with their work. They assign work when they need to and include real-life examples in their lessons. They are available to speak with when needed, and they make sure the students are on track."

"I couldn't see myself at any other school. I feel welcomed and there are so many opportunities to be involved, which is really great. I'm having a great time at my school."

"My overall experience at this school wasn't very good. I read all of the reviews about this school before attending for my sophomore year and the reviews were very good. I was expecting that good experience going to that school and I didn't get that. Instead I saw fights all the time. Literally there was a fight all the time. My grades before coming to this school were excellent, and they dropped significantly while attending this school. My parents didn't understand what it was until they sat down with teachers and realized most of them had no enthusiasm when talking about teaching. I've even gone as far as recording some of the mean hurtful things teachers would say to us. They would call us dumb and ask us "are you really that stupid?" I eventually turned it in to the administration and noticed a slight change in the teachers' behavior. Many students didn't care about their academics and ditched a lot. Many students were grade cut from sports as well."

"At Fairfax you can definelty tell which teachers are there to actually teach and love what they do, and you can definetly tell which teachers (most of them) are there just for a paycheck. I've even experienced a couple of teachers actually say to us students that they're only doing it so they can get paid which was a bit discouraging to us students because it made us feel like they didn't truly believe in us and want us to succeed."

"My experience of Fair Fax High school was a complete one. I tried to participate in the clubs and activities that the school supplied. I was very active but I struggled academically. I had a lot of personal family problems, and encountered several insecurities because of the student environment. I was affiliated with with many individuals on campus. I learned a lot from this school from the students and the cultural. In this school there were not many teachers that actually cared enough to help the struggling students. In my experience if a student was being a delinquent or was struggling academically they did not care. I have personally received this treatment. I remember when I was a sophmore or in the tenth grade my Geometry Teacher would not grade my work because she lost or she just did not want to waste her time. I was struggling in the class. I asked for her to tutor me or recommend me to tutoring programs but she didn't. It came to a point where I realized that I was going to fail so i decided to conduct an experiment of my own. In one test, I bubbled in only answer "A" to see what would happen. I gave her my answer sheet and she scratch out my name and gave me a 0. No questions asked. During my high school years I encountered many teachers like this. However, there were great teachers in this school. I had the privilege to attend the class of Mr. Kerr. He was a fantastic teacher. He cared about his students and some how made many students love math. He taught Geometry to Trigometry. Mr. Kerr communicated properly, gave great vibe, taught by using real world examples, was consistent on his grading method and finally he respected his students. This school can be bitter sweet but it is how any individual makes it. Like most high schools it can be a nightmare or a complete paradise."
