"We have been very happy with this school. I read these reviews about sub-par academics with amazement. I have three children who attend ASA and all three score in the 99th percentile in TerraNovas every year. In fact, the oldest two have invited through the Johns Hopkins Talent program to take the SATs. they have participated in external contests in math, science and writing and placed in these competitions. My eldest has been accepted to several prestigious college preparatory schools with merit scholarships. Her entrance exam scores were strong in both math and language. My children are confident and well-educated. ASA is a second home to them providing a family-like environment while providing an excellent education and Armenian cultural enrichment."

"We live in a very good school district and compared ASA's academics and enrichment curriculums with those of our local school. In our experience the Armenian Sisters Academy fell short on many levels. The science, history and writing was sub standard. The Armenian lessons are informative providing cultural interest, but the general malaise of the school atmosphere left us wondering if this is a "happy learning" environment for our child. I witnessed instances where a harsher tone (than I felt was needed) was taken regarding discipline. My husband and I are both 100 per cent Armenian, so we are familiar with our culture's inadequacies as well as our virtues. We just prefer positive enforcement and kindness over angry faces and punitive remedies and actions. This school is not the definitive standard regarding Armenian culture, as it was repeatedly stated to us from parents, teachers, and especially board members. And since we did not think it reached the standard(s) for History, Writing and Science, it will be best for our family to move our child to another school."

"My children attended this school because I was an alum. I based my decision on my positive experience. I was unimpressed with the current academics, leadership and equally unimpressed with the overly involved parents - including fellow alums. My children left and are attending another private school. I was very unhappy with some bullying issues that went unresolved for MULTIPLE years. It seemed to us that some behaviors are to be tolerated if the parents are greater financial contributors or board members. This was our impression and our direct experience. Perhaps my husband and I would have overlooked some nuances, but we could not overlook the mediocre academics and unresolved bullying. I have read many of these reviews, and encourage readers wanting an objective opinion to seriously rethink some of these "Overly Glowing" reviews. By the way I'd like to end my review on a positive note: ASA does have very small class sizes and did a great job teaching my child about Armenians, our many cultural celebrations, language and history. Thank you"

"Because of ASA, I am confident that my children are on the right path to loving their Armenian heritage and language, intellectually curious, independent, and life long learners. The integrated arts education at ASA is unparalleled and across the curriculum. These children are taught to perform (sing, dance, recite, act, play instruments etc.) and speak publicly so well from such a young age, that they have confidence in themselves in front of others early in life. In addition to all of this, they provide a strong STEM curriculum that is constantly being challenged by administration and teachers to be the best it can be. The science classes are hands on and lab based starting in the first grade. The administration is constantly benchmarking curriculums at other schools in the area and attends regular benchmarking meetings with other schools. The teachers are all certified and attend continuing professional education courses. They also know all the students, from the youngest to the oldest, and are very caring as a whole."

"Very very unhappy at this school. We are leaving next year. Academics are below par and that's being kind. I am fully Armenian, my husband is not - I SO wanted this school to work out. I was looking beyond the TERRIBLE REVIEWS but am so sad to say that they are mostly based on truth. I do LOVE the new principal but unfortunately cannot overcome the poor academics especially in English and Mathematics. Hard to escape the reputation of the 50 plus children, and thirty plus families that have left the school. We're moving on to another private school for one of my children and our local (Radnor) private school for my son. Wishing this school well, hoping they get their act together, did not like the oppressive and demeaning old world influences. I have noticed that the better recommendations are coming from children and parents of board and alum members."
