"Bridgeport is an excellent school. My son transferred from Candlebrook to Bridgeport half way through his 1st grade year, He is currently a 3rd grader and he loves his school. Candlebrook was a good school, but I like the diversity at Bridgeport. In regards to the last review regarding problem students... My son was one of those students and by no means was he treated like royalty! He had a below average reading level and spent 1 year in the title one reading program and tested at an above average reading level. He did have behavior problems intitially too and the amazing staff really helped him and he has been a model student ever since. This is the best school I have ever encountered."

"Great facility. Some teachers are great, others not so great. If you are a problem child with discipline issues or academic issues you are treated like royalty. If you are average or above average you get pushed aside for the children who 'need more'. The principle is a nice young man with a positive attitude. My son loves him, although he does tend to be very interested in attendance and sports over academics. Parents need to be more involved with this school, we all know the more parent involvement the better the school. Parents are the driving force behind every great school. Get involved !"

"Being in a relatively new building creates a nice image for a quality learning environment. Several of the teachers truly care about their students and the teaching profession. However, students are not pushed to go beyond self-perceived limitations, nor strive for excellence. Homework often consists of busy work. The principal as leader has his priorities misaligned with the purpose of school. He is more concerned with attendance percentages, other district numbers, and sports. By focusing on the whole child and meeting his/her individual needs, test score numbers will automatically improve, but he doesn't see this, nor support it. He's very friendly, but don't be fooled by his 'yes' attitude. He's extremely ineffective. We would attend another school if that were an option."

"Below average academics. Principal does not communicate with parents. Teachers are ok, some work great with parents, others don't because they're not 'required'. What teacher wouldn't work with a parents to do what's best for their students?"

"Bridgeport is an amazing school. We live in West Conshohocken and were delighted to find out that our child would not be attending Conshohocken schools, instead would be part of the Upper Merrion school district."
