"This school is unlike most schools because it is in a small town where everyone one knows everyone. It's not some gang town or anything like that, most people would refer to Coquille as a "hick town" because of all the farmers. Our town causes us to be closer to one another, we don't have a bullying issue, and I don't believe we have ever had one because we all treat each other equally. We smile to one another in the hallways and we talk to just about everyone during class. We also have assemblies that involve competitions between classes. This only causes each class to become closer because everyone participates and we have fun. We also have an awesome student section for our football games. For example, our team made it to state playoffs this year and we decided to have a router bus but we had to have at least 20 people signed up, we ended up having around 50 people sign up. There is only about 30 people per class and we already had about 45 football players and cheerleaders. So all together we had almost our entire school at that game. I myself am a cheerleader and I enjoyed that game so much that it left me in tears when it was over. I love my school a lot and I have a lot of fun with all of our activities and sports. I love how close we all are, you could almost say we are like a family, especially the senior class of 2016."

"The teachers at this school are all pretty awesome. They all are fun in their own ways. For example, there is a new teacher that just started working here and everyone likes him because he understands what we are going through and he helps us prepare for college even though he is a health teacher, he tells us about his own experiences and what it will be like for us when we get out of high school. Another newer teacher is actually on crutches because he was in the military and was involved in a bombing causing his legs to become paralyzed. He is a math teacher and is really good at relating his war stories to stuff we do in math. He is extremely intelligent and sometimes I question why he is a high school teacher. Along with being brilliant he is also really nice and has an amazing sense of humor, causing most of his students to like him. We have two writing teachers that we go back and forth from through out high school. They are both very intelligent. One is really nice and easy going and the other is kind of argumentative but in a funny way. He likes to pretend like he doesn't care about our grades but we all know that he does and that he is just joking around. All of our teachers are amazing and if I'm ever having trouble in one hundred percent comfortable going up to any of them before or after school and asking for help. They are all very consistent in their grading and I get along with all of them."

"Almost all the teachers that I have had at Coquille High have been very devoted to their work. They teach things in a way that help students better understand topics and stay on track. The teachers also keep up on their grading most of the time which helps students see where they're at and what they need to do in the future, highly benefiting each and every student."

"I have had a good time at my school and couldn't have imagined going elsewhere. I like being close to people and seeing the same faces everyday. Yes, it's nice to see new faces every once in awhile, but I feel like my classmates are family and I wouldn't trade that for the world."

"The academics at Coquille High could be better but it is better than other schools our size. The school may not offer any advanced placement classes but it does offer classes that challenge us and gives us the opportunity to pursue whatever career we want later on in life. Since the school is small the staff is on us to get thinking about college and why it is important to take things seriously now instead of later. Also the school offers classes online that aren't being taught by the teachers working at Coquille, since they're very limited, which is nice if you like independent teaching."
