"Ecellent teachers and a great principle. All staff members work as a team and there is high parent involvement. Small class sizes makes for more one on one time with the teacher"

"Southold UFSD is a tiny school district with 950 students K-12. I have worked for this district as a contracted provider. The quality of education is questionable. The students I have worked with have limited study skills, limited grammar and vocabulary, and benefit from direct instruction. This tells me that something is sorely missing in the classroom environment. The students I have taught express thanks to me fore taching them, so it is not the lack of desire to learn that has held them back. It is obvious that the public education offered in this district varies according to who you are and who you know or hang out with. The teachers with whom I had to communicate with were very laid back and not invested inteir students. I have contracted with many districts and this is one of the ones I took off my list, as they do not have the student's best interests at heart."

"i fully agree with -n get a great tutor you will need it. The teachers o NOT care about the students! They have no enthusiasm or energy! The principal cares about the teachers but not about the students or their education!"

"Get a good tutor , you will need it. We came from other school districts and I have never seen such teacher apathy."

"I think the fact that the most recent "glowing" reviews were written on the same day speaks volumes - perhaps there was an elitist PTA meeting the night before. Just check out the NY state rankings for this district. 'Nuff said. Also check out the grammar and spelling written by one of the teachers in their review. Terrifying!"
