"It is unfair to compare Junipero Serra High School to other high schools. Kids go here who have been unsuccessful in a regular high school setting. The classes are limited, but the teachers are dedicated to assuring these kids get a strong, basic education so they can move forward with their lives. Some kids, like my son, complete missed units in a year then return to regular schools. Othercomplete high school here and go on to work, community college, or vocational training. The principal is fantastically successful because each kid knows he expects him or her to succeed. Most kids here would have dropped out of high school without this place. It gets my vehement support. I teach at an academically challenging local independent school. As a professional educator, I take off my hat to Junipero Serra's dedicated teachers and administrators. Their students may not hit the highest scores on the standardized tests, but rest assured that they are far more successful human beings than they would have been without it."

"JSerra has been an amazing school for my son. He gets personal attention, and extra help from all of his teachers whenever he asks. They truly take an interest in how well he's doing and are proactive about his education, not reactive. The sports he's played so far have been rewarding, and the coaches have all been outstanding. The kids have a ton of school spirit and having worked at the dances, I'm pleased to see how many students attend. We host an international student as well. What a great program and we'll do it again!"

"Little or no individual attention given to students. Classes increase considerably every year with very poor extracurricular & sports program."

"Disappointing. Strict to the point of being militant. Poor attendance at dances and school events with little or no school spirit. So many better options in the area."

"The school is wonderful. The class sizes are small and personal attention can be given to each student. Because it is a new school, some of the extra curriculars are limited but that should be growing and changing with each year."
