"Fights, gangs and bullying overshadow the greatness this school could become. Nothing happens when these things are brought to the attention of the school board."

"the school's dangerous. We've had fights, gang-related problems, and teachers really pay not attention to the bullying. There are good teachers though who make it worth it. As a 2013 graduate I wouldn't quite recommend coming here unless you're REALLY looking to go into math or history. Those teachers pay the most attention to their students and will help students reach their full potential."

"This school has great teachers and has very good programs that students like. But there always fights and drama. The school needs to get a clean up because it is horrible. There is dry paint falling off the ceiling, cracked walls, an odor that you don't want to smell ever again, and many more things that I can't name off right now. I am a senior at DHS and I am VERY happy that its my last year. Yes, its a good school but if you want to see your child get into a lot of fights or get pregnant, do NOT send them to this school."

"DHS is a large (1,600 students), urban high school, so I was a little apprehensive when I enrolled my daughter there instead of sending her to the parochial high school in town. She's a sophomore now, and I'm happy to report she's doing great there! I couldn't be happier with my decision! The teachers are true professionals, the school has a lot of extracurricular activities to offer, and the atmosphere is a positive, affirming one. The walls of the school are covered with framed pictures from the school's more than 100-year past--students, alumni, etc. It gives you a feeling of being part of something bigger than yourself. DHS is an excellent school. Go Vikings!"
