"I attended this elementary as a young child and it help me become the man I am today. I lived in the housing projects across from the school in the early 80's. South Street park. In those days it was easy to write the children of this area off. To the comment about the principal being mandated. Shame, its people like you with no faith in the unlikely that tried to hold me back. Seeing is believing and I survived the odds to become a successful very proficient adult working in corporate America for fortune five hundred company (see Home Depot) and have not be in jail or had to rely on the military. So try again my friend. We have over come."

"As a parent of two children that attend Turie T Small I am very pleased with the dedication of the administration, teachers and support staff. The majority are willing to go the extra mile to help the students reach their highest potential. As far as the comment that a teacher made previously about the future of the students at TT Small I pray to God that they retire and my children not be under their instructions."

"My contact with the principal is that he is mandated by someone to merely keep the lid on things and to present the fa ade of directing a school towards learning. From what I saw and experienced is that the majority of the student population will become either inmates in prisons or cannon fodder for the military. Harsh but true. But to get into the military they might have to be able to read on a fifth grade level and as only 3% are at proficiency for reading then I feel most will be in prisons providing they live long enough."

"Mrs. Powers, the principal adds so much to this school. She truly cares about these kids and them reaching their greatest potential. I appreciate her so much as an administrator their and her leadership style."
