"This school is a diamond that shines from the top down. Have been here with my children for the past five years. Even though my kids have gone to high school I will stay here and volunteer because the principal is fantastic. She knows every child by name is truly manages by walking around. She is everywhere and the kids love her. She inspires the children and the parents. Keep up the good work."

"Southwestern Middle School is the best place I have ever worked. Parents, students, teachers, support staff, administration, and the community work together to make Southwestern a school dedicated to help each and every person."

"The principal and her staff are AWESOME and they really care about the students wellfare and that they succeed in school. They are involved in the community and when the going gets rough they dig their heals in and do whatever needs done. Once we had some pretty bad tornadoes come through our town and the principal drove from her home in Daytona (our school was closed due to flooding and other issues) and instead of letting the food in the cafe' go bad she called in some staff and fed the community because alot of homes around the school had been hit by the tornadoes. If they know of children that needs tutoring but can't stay after school they in some cases make arrangements to go to the students home to help that student and/or student. I could go on and on about this school, but that would take quite a long time. I believe its the BEST school anywhere and the principal is just as great!!!!"

"The Principles are always there to helpstudents and teachers. They are very involved and spend many hours here helping to increase positive attitudes and a great learning environment. The teachers are always there to help each other, and the students, wtih after school media center hours to help student with homework. We have a day were teachers work with students in fun ways and in catch-up work. We all try to support one another in the clubs and after school activites, always trying to raise moneies needed for the different clubs and for field trips which are so important to our students, so they can see what is out in the world. This school has a wonderful atmosphere."
