"After reading these reviews, it seems that Devon Prep is in a decline. I asked parents of students that attend this school, since we were considering it & I will look more closely at Malvern Prep. Not sure why the parents questioned are keeping their sons there but I guess it's not easy changing schools when there is only one or two years left. Still, I would consider that a good option."

"After transferring to our area public high school, after years at Devon Prep, we realized that we wasted our money at this school. The teachers at the public school were so much better especially in Math, Science, and Foreign Languages. My son actually learned and loved Math at public school rather than listened to stories about the teacher's daughter and everyone at Devon knows what I am referring to with this subject. Socially, the public school better prepared him for college. My advice to anyone in a reputable school district is to not waste it at Devon and send your son to schools with better qualified teachers and more courses to choose."

"My son finished his first year at the school (6th grade) and we couldn't be happier. It is true that Devon is not a "sports" school but it is excellent in it's academics which is what our priority is. My son has never worked so hard and been so happy doing it. I was impressed with all of his teachers who gladly go above and beyond what is necessary to help the boys. The school nurtures a sense of community and encourages their students to develop personally as well as academically."

"Teachers are not qualified the least bit. Sports are not worth trying out for. Teachers show a lot of favoritism. Academically this school has regressed a tremendous amount. I would not recommend this school to a student athlete."

"I think in this economy, it's hard for this school to hire quality teachers and it's hurting the overall education of the students. During this past school year, we saw a real decline in the teaching quality. One of the teachers has students coming after school continually for extra help. Honestly, if she taught the subject well to begin with, students wouldn't need help after school. Some teachers left during the school year, and inferior ones were hired. I only see a real decline in this school."
