"East Stroudsburg North's reputation has been maipulated and twisted by those who have had bad experiences and bad attitudes. I am a recent graduate of ESN, so I can attest to the reputation that the school truly deserves. At ESN, the teachers provide a top-notch education to those who wish to learn and instill a will to learn in those who do not. The teachers are insightful and genreally jovial. Contrary to some comments that have been made, racial tensions, poor use of technology, and other erroneous claims about issues at North are not prevelant. Diversity at North is aparent and divisions are only found by those who want to find it. Many of North's classes are considered "classrooms of the future" and almost all of them utilize technology on a weekly basis. The reason East Stroudsburg North gets four stars rather than five is the community that surrounds it. To start, the district administration that runs both the North and South schools is more willing to kiss the butt of the South school and belittle the North school than it is to make "improvements" that the South school insists the North so desperately needs. Not to mention the uneven distribution of funds and resources..."

"I rate this School as a poor because the focus more on the little things rather then educating I believe some of the teachers to be racist and very poor at judgement."

"Thank goodness I am zoned for the E.S.H.S. South and not the North. However I did read in the newspaper about a year ago that a student from this school got a fully paid scholarship to Princeton University. It was the 1st time in 50 yrs that the Scholarship was won by this district in the State. I believe the resources are there, it is up to the child to make maximum use out of it. If the child is interested in cussing and gangs and roaming the halls, then that's what they will reap out of their high school education. You fail to prepare, then be prepared to fail. I believe like any other school district they have their problems but the E.S.H.S. South is being run by the same administration and same funding, resources etc. and their Great Schools ratings is an 8, so there is definitely an imbalance somewhere in this equation. The South High school is not the greatest either, drive by after school and see the crowd on the street, they look like druggies, they can't wait to get out the high school to smoke at the end of the day, they walk around with skateboards and green hair, pants falling off their waist, but their test scores are higher. Hope my son keeps up his good grades."

"It says a lot about a rural school when there is always a State Trooper car parked in front. The students--mostly from New York City--are out of control and have no respect for any authority. They roam the halls during classes, a third of them are in one form or another type of punishment and there's a faux "gangsta" element. Worse, the administration is afraid to discipline them for fear of being sued. The parents work in NYC, so they're pretty absent for the students' lives. Furthermore, the district uses a 100-minute period system--great if this was a school where students want to be educated; not great for a roomful of bored transplanted teens The poor academic performance has dragged the rest of the district down into being on par with Philadelphia. I'm sure any Philly school would love to have this highly-resourceful campus with the best technology and the lager amounts of money put into it--too bad it's being wasted."
