"Very disappointing school (and Kindergarten teacher). Our son, who is a nice and smart boy that can read since he was 3 years old, always looks scared and frustrated, saying that everything he does is a "mistake" and "nothing is allowed". He has not learned much at school (his teacher even told us that he knows a lot more than most of his classmates), not to mention the rudeness of the secretary, who is one of the harshest people I have ever met."

"Well the proof is in their test scores. Things have become all politics at that school and it's a shame because the kids there are not being held responsible for their behavior when their parents complain enough to get them off the hook. And it is a slippery slope that has left them with lower scores. My family has recently moved within the district to a new school and I am relieved to have the experience of the teachers, a warm and kind principal, well behaved children throughout the school with structure and a staff that cares about them all. You will not find those things at East Ward. I cannot guess as to why East Ward has gotten so out of control, it simply has."

"We have been very pleased with East Ward. In our experience the teachers are proactive and very willing to work with parents to aid in the advancement of their children. In addition the support services are excellent"

"We have been very disappointed with this school. The Kindergarten is focused on behavior and not academics. Children are not evaluated on any academic dimension until the 2nd trimester. While teachers are permitted to make changes to the K cirriculum, they are unwilling to modify the activities and topics to meet the needs of children who are advanced. This school emphasizes the individual student and individual programming in all of its literature, but fails to deliver on any of these promises. I attended this school 30 years ago and nothing with regards to the gifted program has changed. If your child is gifted, you should consider another school, if possilbe."
