"One of the main reasons to go to school is probably academics. Northview s Academics are great. All the teachers are amazing, and the classes are quite challenging. I found the homework load to be pretty intense, but most highly motivated students will be able to deal with it. Athletics here are okay; I heard that their Tennis, Swim, and Lacrosse teams were above average. I haven t heard many good things about their football team. Only warning is that the student body is quite cliquey. I am a new student and it s generally hard to fit in unless you re super outgoing. Also, the school is quite small and cramped for so many students in my opinion, and we can t eat in any of the halls during lunch, or go to our lockers."

"This is one of the best schools in the state. It has a diverse, friendly student body that welcomes new students with ease. The classes are difficult and challenge students and make them strive for success. There are over 100 different clubs and activities at Northview ranging and our Lacrosse and Tennis teams are amazing! The counselors are helpful, and the teachers offer one on one after/before school help sessions. Over 30 AP (Advanced Placement) courses are offered in a variety of subjects ranging from Psychology to Environmental Science. I strongly reccomend this school to anyone who wants their children to have a great education in a healthy learning environment with tons of extracurricular activities."

"As everybody has mentioned, Northview is a very difficult school acedemically. There are some very good teachers and some very bad teachers, like at any public school. I have had 2 kids graduate from Northview and I have one who will be a junior this year. The two that graduated from Northview are doing great in college and find college easier than Northview was. The only complant I would have with Northview is that there seems to be a lack of school pride/support for some of the athletic teams. (It maybe that kids are too busy working on projects or studying to attend athletic events!) Otherwise, I believe Norhtview does what a high school should and that is to prepare kids for college and life after school. It will be interesting to see how or if the new principal changes things (The previous principal was only there a few years after the original principal retired and she did not work to improve anything that we noticed)."

"People say this school is competitive and it is. People say that it is hard and it is. But, some people don't understand the amount of hard work Northview expects of its students. So, if you are not willing to lose a few nights of sleep or give it your all, you won't succeed. It's like in life, if you don't do a good job at work, you get fired. If you don't do a good job at Northview, you didn't work hard enough."

"None of the schools can fit all different levels students. Northview is a very competitive and very intense school. If a student can not up to an academic challenge, then Northview may not be a good one for that student. In some cases, Northview students have better knowledge than teachers, in term of the academy fields; and in some cases, if teachers and students both took SAT test, students test scores could be higher than teachers . It is fact, lots of students got outside tutors to learn some higher level math, science and language arts which are the school is not able to teach. So, speaking about the school credit, Northview s succeeded, the major factor is parents put lots of money on tutors, and students work really hard, lots of cases, till midnight."
