"Children above average are bored and on a regular basis are left to read while they wait for the peers. Principal, Asst. Principal and nearly every teacher are very good. We find the aides to be below average and the cafeteria / indoor recess situation to be very difficult. I find the parents are too involved and can interfere with learning and the school."

"Good facility, but the school falls short on fostering intellectual curiousity. Smart kids are bored and unstimulated. No program for talented kids - a shame considering most resources go to kids needing support."

"Shelter Rock has fantastic teachers that really care about their students. They make sure that the kids understand the work and if they are struggling with anything they make sure they receive the help they need. The Principle and Vice Principle are also amazing caring individuals. I don't think any other schools have a Principle and Vice Principle that care so much about their students and are so involved with all the students. Shelter Rock has such a strong academic program especially in 6th grade that the children move on to the middle school feeling confident and well prepared."

"My child is about to enter his third year at the school. So far, he has been fortunate to be matched with teachers who are experienced, progressive and engaging. As a working parent, I also have a hard time reaching the principal or VP when I need to return missed calls. As a new resident to the community, trying to enroll my child and get a school tour or obtain more information about the school activities, school services and typical curriculums were very difficult. There is diversity among the student body and Diversity Day is celebrated in the district, so the multicultural social aspects are present despite the lack of early foreign language introduction in the school."

"New to the school and find the principle to be very friendly and always greets the children with a smile. Teachers are great! My children love it here. Very warm and welcoming environment."
