"My girls have gone to HP schools since kindergarten. They are now in middle and High school. The middle school is ok, getting better, however the high school is HORRIBLE.. The kids are allowed to curse and talk back to the teachers with no consequences. My daughter finds it very hard to concentrate in class, because once again the kids talk out and back whenever they feel like it, and the teachers just go on teaching like they didn't just hear what was said, so that child or children continue to acting out because it is allowed. Be mindful of what I just said before you decide on HPHS."

"As a parent of a former student of HPHS, and a friend of many still attending both HPMS & HPHS, I have found, that the school offers tremendous opportunity for every child. I also believe that the discipline policies, or policies that allow too much freedom and independance to the students, need to be adjusted. As well as parent/teacher communication. I, as a parent, feel that much more can be accomplished by rapid communication with a parent as opposed to communication with parents 'after the fact'...teachers see students (at the HS level) more than their parents...can detect a downward spiral before the inevitable end result, which could have been intercepted with a positive outcome, had the parent been contacted prior to...I am tired of saying, 'Why wasn't I contacted before'? Staff & administration are A+, great respect for diversity, great programs that seem tailored to the wonderfully unique HP population."

"My son, Sam, goes to Highland Park Middle School(HPMS)and is in 8th grade. Sam loves HPMS. He says that it's great knowing everyone, and you feel like your welcome and it just feels so warm. During 7th grade he didn't have the best teachers, but now in 8th grade he has a great variety of teachers. At Back-To-Night I was so impressed with the teachers. The school needs to step up it's Discipline Policy a bit, but this year there is a new Supervisor of the Middle School, and he is starting to put discipline in place. The school has lots of programs for students, parents and families. All the students are offered Sports Activities, Student Council, Peer Mediation and many more. Overall, I am very pleased with the school but there are a few things the school needs to improve on."
