"My youngest attends Dayspring and my oldest is in currently in Kindergarten in MCA. My oldest was in Dayspring since 2.5. Both are great places for kids. The staff at Dayspring are so loving and attentive. My son was reading in Pre-K. MCA has a very strong curriculum, so I think it is definitely more fast paced than other schools. I think my son is learning so much and still having fun. They have gym 2x/week and have special classes like Computer and Spanish. There are rules and the children are expected to follow but the teachers are fair and understanding. My son is rambunctious and active - and has some trouble sometimes, but he isn't branded as a "bad" kid. The teachers just say that he will mature and try to continually provide positive reinforcement. They highlight the positives instead of just negative feedback. The kids interact with the kids are of all grade levels esp in the aftercare. and I think this is good. i see 6th-8th graders that know my son's name and I think that shows the inclusiveness of the school. Its definitely worth checking out and seeing if it is the right fit for your child."
"Great school! The teachers and administration work hard for the best interest of the students. Bible, cursive, computers, spanish and taught. Piano, guitar, tutoring, basketball, chorus and aftercare are all offered. Best of all your the children are safe and cared for. The students work hard and are advanced in every subject."
"I myself attended this school from K-8 grades, and when my son is ready for preschool, I will be enrolling him in Dayspring, and then into MCA. The A BEKA book curriculum is SUPERIOR. There is a strong emphasis on phonics, which I feel is integral in fostering a love of reading in a child. The Scripture and poetry memorizations required at this school have stayed with me these 15 years since I've graduated. All of my teachers were caring and devoted to the children. The discipline is strict, yet fair. I feel so fortunate to have received such a solid foundation educationally, socially, and spiritually. I have such fond memories of this school. I can't wait to send my own boy."
"First yr. here, but I like what I see so far. They offer guitar and piano lessons afterschool ($25/week) and on-site tutoring (apx 35/hr). Everyday they practice cursive and study the Bible. Parents are encouraged to attend wkly prayer mtgs. They have a new gym and coming soon..a new playground! The school is very diverse racially and a good size (191 students for K-8), compared to apx 800 students in the K-5 elem. school in Edison. Tuition and aftercare are affordable at $4/hour or $170 monthly (before care and after care combined). I like that they also have a nursery/pre-school sister school on site and provide sibling discounts. At the parent orientation, I was happy to see many dads. Second gr. has art, Spanish, chapel, gym, and some new computers in the class. K-2 students get textbooks, not just worksheets. Wish they had daily hot lunches, only offered occasionally now."
"To our knowledge, we did not have any student leave due to not being able to handle his/her behavior. However, we did have an incident where the parent was disrespectful to administration and we asked the family to leave the school. At MCA, we know that both the school and the parent must work together for the success of the student. Without one, it just doesn't work."
