"I graduated from long county high school in 2008. I was a year behind but it was nobodies fault but my own. you know you have all these parents blaming teachers you know when your child reaches high school he or she does what they want regardless what they are taught at home so i guess what im saying is LCHS has a great staff but for the students attending there remember you cant blame everyone else for your mistakes. being in front of a class of 20-25 people is not very easy you know so try to cut them some slack. Yeah I can say all of this cause yes i was one of them students who was giving up on school. But you know i had a couple teachers sit down and talk with me along with Dr.Mallard about changing my ways. Andrew Groover"

"Comparing with previous years i am very disspapointed on how things are handled. The school is supposed to be a safe place for our children to go and learn not to gossip or start fights and drama against eacother just because another student might be more popular or smarter than another. Some students even feel that the teachers are rude and racist!!!!!!!The school should not show discrimination, and sometimes they think and say they don't show discrimination but they do.And thats why students are so negative and dont want to learn or go to school!!!Sometimes the students may have problems at home and dont want to go to school and have to deal with more problems or drama.Long County has been and can be the greatest if there was less drama and discrimination!!!At least thats how some of the students feel."

"I am a former student of LCHS. I graduated 2009. I attended this school for three years. The students were rather small minded, as were some of the teachers. I found that if you were related to the 'right people' or had the 'right name' then you would be treated a whole lot better than anyone else. Teachers there did have their favorites, which I found unfair. The school's schedules and such were always messed up. They just couldn't seem to get it right. But what to expect from a small town school? --Former Student."

"I am a former student of LCHS. I graduated in 2007. LCHS is a good school in my opinion. It might not be the best school in Georgia, but I believe that the administration is trying their best. Give them a break, they get negative comments from so many parents and students, but no one is offering to help with anything. Participation in the activities and the meeting that the provide is one way to voice your opinions and not just sit back and complain. I think it's a lot of political things wrong, and I think Dr. Mallard realizes it, and she is trying her best. I'm proud of LCHS and for those review that states that they are not preparing for us for college, how wrong? I'm in college with a 3.75 GPA, and I know others that graduated along with me could say about the same. --Former Student"

"Like many of the previous posters, I'd have to say that Long County is still operating by the archaic and debasing 'good ol' boy' system. When I attended for a year in the 11th grade (I transferred my senior year), I found that academics were placed on the back burner. I knew more about my teachers at Long County from their own mouths than I really cared to know (to put it lightly)... and all because they didn't know their boundaries. And this happened time and time again. I did anything I wanted after being friends with the 'right' people who had the 'right' names. People get too comfortable, and therefore the standards get relaxed. It comes with being in a small town. This one, at least. Now that I'm older, I realize it was the best possible scenerio for me to get out of their as soon as possible."
