"I am so excited about FHS. This is truly a school of excellence!!!"

"As a former FitzHi student, who now teaches at FHS, I take issue with many of the negative reviews posted here. You can't get more out of something than you put into something. We've tried over the years to add extracurricular activies, many of which failed due to lack of student participation. For the price you pay, your kids get fed well. Maybe [parents] should concentrate on academic performance and teach your kids to respect rules (dress code) instead of abetting them in breaking rules. We still try to hold out for strong academics and discipline, but we're losing, as all schools are. It's sad."

"I think that FHS is a great place to attend high school. The teachers work very hard to make sure that students are successful. The principal and other administrators including the counselors really seem to care about the students. I feel good about the quality of the education my child will recieve at FHS."

"FHS has many problems. Some teachers do try their best but others are too complacent. They have been in their position too long. I myself have had to deal with bullying by, nonetheless, a teacher. Some teachers need not let their attitudes cross a certain line. They think as students we haven't any say in what happens at FHS. The school as well as the town places too big of an emphasis on sports rather than the academic accomplishments of the students. I believe the mindset of this town needs to change greatly. It is pointless to try and play up the football team if they're all failing and can't play. Not to mention the fact of drugs at FHS, something must be done to rid our schools of these problems. And, don't let the word out ahead of time when there's going to be a drug search."

"FHS has many things to work on. First of all, the emphasis on sports is way too high. The main thing the school should be looking at is the academic performance of the child as an individual. Being a former student myself, I remember the problems I had there. I quit school because of the lack of discipline for the teachers themselves. If a student is doing something wrong, they are punished, but what about teachers...who punishes them. I will say that you have a few good teachers and other staff members, and good job the those few of you, but it is like everything else in Fitzgerald, people have been in their places too long and someone needs to come clean house."
