"The scheduling process is terrible. The counselor practically refuses to change your schedule and give you decent class options. There also aren't very many classes than the average person would be interested in. That is probably simply because it is a small school but it is still annoying."

"There is not much racial diversity and the administrators are oppressive to anyone different. The administrators refused to allow a school related LGBT club that creates a safe space for individuals to come out of the closet. Also, my friend got "dress coded" for wearing a shirt that said "no place for homophobia fascism sexism racism hate." The students aren't terrible but the administrators are horrible."

"The teachers are very knowledgable in their subjects but the problem a lot of the students run into is that the teachers lack the ability to actually teach. Now this isn't necessarily true for all the teachers but there are a chuck of them that constantly cause the students to struggle. Another issues (that could very well be the foundational issue for my first complaint) is that the teachers always end up teaching to a grade. Which ends up contradicting the very reason a student comes to school, to learn. The issue is that the students are then forced to excel to a number instead of actually learn the material. The number of students who have said they learn something, take the test, then forget the information is overwhelming and really not a good representation of the education system employed in the school district."

"Barring a few select teachers, the teachers fit into one of three categories: 1. The teacher does not care about the students. 2. The teacher is unable to teach because of a lack of knowledge. 3. The teacher is too lazy to teach."

"Overall, parental support at Sunnyvale is great. The only problem is actually the over involvement of parents. To start, a large majority of the student population receive a great deal of added pressure from their parents (who force their students to strive for absolute perfection. Which isn't necessarily bad, but when its combined with the over zealous nature of the school a student can easily get overwhelmed.) Another parental flaw, is the political side. In Sunnyvale it almost always seems that you're either in the group or you're out (this applies to both the parents and students). The issue is a lot of the parents become active in the school drama to a point where it is no longer healthy or appropriate, and this results in parental politics being added onto the already over abundant politics found at the school. The final issue with the parents is that they really only care about their individual child, not the betterment of the whole generation. Now this does not apply to sporting events (particular to football where there is almost always a great turnout). The issue mainly arrives when you discuss the fine arts. Over the past few years these programs have gained respect by the community and the audience numbers have slowly gone up. But these numbers are dwarfed by the number of football attendees. So the problem isn't a lack of community or involvement. The issue is the selective nature of the community."
