"Latin is a wonderful school that I feel lucky our son has the ability to attend. I read the comment on 01/19,I sincerely hope you found a school where you are happy. I must tell you that my son's experience has been the mirror opposite. Yes there are some kids that come from vast wealth, We DO NOT have that kind of money, my son is not a "Lifer"; yet he was welcomed into the school. My son is a bit shy, very sensitive yet he has never had a single student be anything but nice to him. He has made friends and has never regretted his choice. My son goes to school in jeans,Latin is far from a fashion show. In fact the kids appear purposeful in their desire to combat these stereotypes. I have found the teachers to be passionate about teaching, always ready to work with any student and in general dedicated to making sure your child is successful. It's High School not k - 8; so the teachers prefer that the students "Self advocate"; but anytime I have sent a teacher an email, a reply was returned in minutes. The facilities are absolutely amazing especially the new science center. The "Best School" is the school that is best for your child. Latin is working out very well for us."

"This school is the worst school I have ever attended. The boys use foul language and the girls are cliquey and like to gossip aobout other girls. The facilities are nice, although some of the faculty has a tendency to write awful and untrue things on childrens grade reports. Going to this school is a huge waste of your money. Your child will feel alone and unwelcome, unless they are pretty, popular, smart, and rich. The girls on the basketball team yell at the other players if they are doing something wrong. Unless you are wearing the most popular and fashionable and most expensive clothing, you are ridiculed by your peers. Latin has a reputation for a no bully policy. Well, chew on this Latin. If all the students that had ever bullied another student were expelled, you wouldn't have anyone left."

"Possibly one of the best schools in Illinois. Meeting with teachers is a breeze, the staff is friendly, and the curriculum prepares a student for college."

"As someone who grew up in Lincoln Park, I can tell you this school is not any better than the Catholic (St. Clement) or public school (Lincoln) in the neighborhood. The main difference is the parents. They seem to think that the more money you spend on a school, the better the education. The school is not diverse at all. I am just as successful (i.e. my position within my company and my salary), if not more, than my friends who went to Latin. Good parenting is the biggest factor to success in life, not how much you overpaid for your child's education."

"This is one of the best schools in the world. Latin has top notch academics and a wide variety of extra curricular activities. The teachers are wonderful and they are very caring. Latin has a great community."
