"I have 2 Children that Attend Keewahdin Elementary. I am giving the school 2 stars because most of the staff and principle are great. The problem is out of their control I assume. Due to a school closing this school gained 200 students this year, and as far as I can tell they really didn't add teachers to compensate. The result: High class sizes, and horrible overcrowding. I dread picking my kids up from school as it is chaotic and there is no parking. Both of my children and I have almost been hit walking into the school because parents have been forced to "make their own spots" which allows for zero visibility, many parents speed through the parking lot. My Husband and I have complained multiple times....the excuse we get is that the sun makes their camera unusable in the morning. We are not the only ones to complain, my sons whole kindergarten class feels the same way. we have notified the district but the district is still does nothing. I recently found out they are planning on taking teachers away from Keewahdin for 2014/ 15 year. We thought this was the best option for our kiddos...Unfortunately we were very wrong. :("

"There are the haves and the have nots at this school as I was once told by a past teacher in this school who actually agreed that "the haves"- who are very cliquey -and their children are given priority. If you decide to send your child here and are of average socioeconomic status, get involved, advocate for your child, do not be intimidated by cliques and do not allow your child to be lost in the large crowds as the school is becoming way overcrowded. The overcrowding of the classrooms is a huge problem and is only becoming worse as more schools close and children are packed in. This is a district problem that is affecting all PHASD schools. As far as staffing, we have experienced a few cliquey teachers but some are warm and approachable and care about all of their students, not just the wealthy. They all work very hard even though they are grossly underpaid! Principals seem to come and go. The men have been "ok" but all the women have been haughty, cold and unapproachable."

"I have sent my children to Keewahdin Elementary and now my grandchildren are attending. Keewahdin is a very good School with very good people taeching and assiiting our children. I have a single daughter who id raising my grandsons on her own, and Keewahdin School and its members have been more than supportive."

"Keewahdin is a school thatcould be great but sadly it is only adequate. The principal is not very warm or approachable the school is very cliquey not a warm open school. Most of the teachers are very good a few of them don t have the enthusiasm they should have for the job, especially when working with elementary students. Keewahdin with a little work could go from OK to great."
