"I rate St. Mark s Episcopal School a five star school. The school is all about community and concern for all students. The school instills an Honor Code and provides community service and leadership opportunities. The graduates excel and they thrive academically in high school. They are very involved in sports, the arts and leadership roles. This year St. Mark s is introducing the PLTW Engineering Program for Middle School students and Chromebooks. The new sports program this year includes swim and golf teams at Coral Ridge Country Club and lacrosse. Most of all the spirit is high and we ring the SPIRIT BELL FOR SPIRIT! Go LIONS!"

"This school has many hidden secrets and it's agenda is not to educate or teach good moral behavior. As a student, I became very frustrated because the teachers had to take about fifteen minutes out of our class to quiet the children down by giving detentions out like they were candy. My fellow students laughed and smirked after they were handed the note. I also witnessed girls crawling on the floor licking other student's elbows while the teacher was at the board. The children would also stick their middle fingers up at the teachers behind their backs. Foul and inappropriate language was used in the halls and in front of teachers. When a complaint arose toward the middle school office about a physical type of bullying, the staff would dismiss it making an excuse like 'kids are kids, what are you going to do?' and 'it was merely just an accident, things happen'. Concussions occurred in the halls along with shin kicking, arm punching, and shoulder flicking. I am happy that I made the choice to switch schools. I'm finally in a surrounding where I can learn. I would not reccomend this school to anyone who wants to learn and be accepted by their peers."

"I have worked at this school for over 10 years and sadly watched it deteriorate. St. Marks was a strong and vibrant school and one of the top in Fort Lauderdale but unfortunately such is no longer the case. The past few years has seen good students flocking to get out the door and enrollment has consistently declined. This makes working there very uneasy and stressful because you never know when you will lose your job. There is very little concern for the employees and you can be marched out the door with not so much as a thank you for your years of service. It is a very sad place right now with administrators scrambling to entice new students and at the same time downsizing and outsourcing in order to stay afloat. It deeply saddens me to see such a legacy fall to this level."

"St. Marks is extremely overpriced for the quality of education delivered. I have had 2 children there starting in 2004. We routinely have problems with bullying from both kids and helicopter moms. Many of the parents are morally bankrupt and could care less about anything beyond their social standing. One of my children when tested outside of St. Marks tests below grade level despite getting getting high grades in advanced classes at St. Marks. When the problems are brought to the school's attention, they pat themselves on the back while offering to sell overpriced tutoring services. If you value education look elsewhere."

"This school is harmful to healthy children!! Our family agrees that it is circling the drain. We found it extremely interesting as to how many other good families got fed up and pulled their children out of this unhealthy environment during the school year. This school is behind academically and what they are learning from each other is sinful. The school does not follow its own philosophy. It is not Christian based. Children who attend this school are already drinking alcohol(off school premises) and are experimenting with each other. If this is the type of environment your family is looking for then your children will fit right in. The teachers are average and are instructed not to handle situations in the classroom but send unhappy children to the office. As a parent, I was disgusted to hear and see an administrative teacher tell a child we do not call what happened to you bullying. The young child replied, "Trust me ,I was being bullied" and the child was escorted to another room. UNBELIEVABLE!. This family also left the school. Many of the teachers have or had their own children attend SMES in order to be eligible for a tuition break. These children have every opportunity."
