"Richland really is a pretty good school, as it does have a "family-like" feeling among the student body, especially when it comes to cheering on our team at sporting events. But, it never gives recognition to other sports/organizations aside from Football, Cheer, Basketball, Band, or Baseball. For example, the majority of the school probably doesn't even know that we have a swim team, because it is never promoted or supported by the administration like the other sports are."

"Most teachers go above and beyond. By above and beyond, I mean those who genuinely care about their students and their learning, and are willing to stay beyond school hours to tutor them. As well as those who are understanding of students who have issues at home that may give them a disadvantage to their peers. Throughout my high school career, I've come across a few teachers who I feel genuinely care about me and my learning and whatever issues I may have. As many of my teachers, especially those that teach AP classes, have stayed long after school has ended to allow for test corrections or any extra tutoring we may need. However, the only issue is the fact that with some teachers, I've experienced obvious favoritism of certain students. Even if the favorite is myself, I personally dislike when teachers show favoritism toward a certain student, no matter the reason for the favoritism. I dislike this because it gives an unfair advantage to the favorite student of that teacher, and I believe that each and every student should have an equal opportunity to receive a good grade in each class. Although I understand that it's natural for anyone to develop a favor for certain people, for whatever that reason being, I would hope that the teacher would at least put this favor aside when grading student's essays, discipline,...etc."
