"The student body is quite diverse, and for the most part everyone intereracts with people of different ethnicities. I never witnessed any bullying or prejudice due to race. People with differing sexual orientations, however, were less accepted. Even so, I still had friends with different sexual orientations and they were generally accepted by those around them."

"I personally didn't feel challenged by the work that the teachers gave me. Most of the homework I finished in class. I didn't find it challenging to make straight A's if I paid attention in class and finished my homework. The teachers were happy to help if you were struggling with the material and made a bad grade on a test. I took many AP classes and did well in them because of the extra work the teachers put in for us to be successful."

"Most teachers do what they can to engage the students, but they tend to lose interest during the middle months of the year. There are some teachers who are able to keep the students in line and active with their subject, but most have trouble with motivating students. Those who can't motivate the students are often the ones who seem to have an issue with staying motivated themselves. However, they do overall keep the students fairly engaged and can usually at least keep the students doing their homework, if not always on time."

"It varies on the type of teacher you get in my high school. In every subject there is about 2 to 3 different for that same subject but the overall quality is alright. Some teachers waited until the end of the six weeks but very few would try to turn around and grade it right away. Every teacher i've been with at Saginaw High had tutoring and had a tutoring schedule somewhere in their room. Some teachers were very carrying about students and the others just wanted to get the lesson done and over with, it just varies on who you get assigned with. Everyone is different."

"While there were some exceptions, most teachers valued their students' well being over their grade in the class. They gave me lots of lots of life advice and made sure that I was doing ok when I was having a bad day. They cared more about that I understood the subject rather than how I scored on a test. This refreshing perspective helped me to really learn the material rather than memorize facts that I would soon forget."
