"This will definitely be the last year my child attends this school. There are many reasons for this, but I will only mention a few. The one that sealed the deal was when the administrator became headline news because he bought himself fake diplomas instead of earning them the old fashioned way. Just google Fountain Hills Charter school's fake diplomas, and you will get the information you need. The school claims they knew nothing about it, but If this guy can slip under the radar, then no telling what kind of individuals are working at this school. The teacher my child had was inexperienced and rarely gave my child homework. In fact, my child was very bored with the curriculum, if that's what you want to call it. The online math homework was a joke and it felt like the teacher would rather a computer teach the kids than her. As another reviewer stated, this school lacks transportation to and from field trips, and relies on the parents to volunteer as drivers. Either the principal is clueless regarding the liability issues this raises, or she just doesn't care. This school seriously needs new management and a principal who knows how to run a school professionally."

"Fountain Hills Charter School is a small school. In comparison to the big schools in the area, It does not have all the bells and whistles. It does have, an administration that knows each kid by name. It has teachers that go above and beyond the success of the students. As a parent, this is what I looked for in a school. In addition, with recent events, security is also a factor. I am now concerned about the safety of my kid more than ever. This establishment lets me know that I can drop off my kid without being worried. Every morning and every pickup, there is a law enforcement present. The school is focused on the safety of each student as well as the staff. FHCS is a community that our family is happy to be part of. And that, makes me sleep well at night."

"Do your research indeed. I whole heartedly agree. Apparently the reviewer who was misled that the middle school consisted of only a handful of 7th and 8th graders had not done their own research. Take a tour before sending your child to a new school. FHCS has a small middle school. You can't miss that. That atmosphere is not for everyone. It's up to a parent to determine what is best for their child. My two daughters went to this school for five plus years. Not only did they receive an elementary Montessori education that more than adequately prepared them for middle school, they became a part of a family. The principal and staff at FHCS offer a unique and caring environment not matched at larger public schools."

"We moved to Fountain Hills from the midwest when our two daughters were four and six years old. We chose FHCS initially because of the Montessori-based education. As our girls got older, we experienced first-hand all of the other wonderful benefits the charter school offered. Studies have proven that the more support kids get from home, the better the kid does in school. However, if the administration and staff at the school do not allow you as a parent to ask questions, or to see and hear what is happening in your child's classroom, the point is moot. My kid's teachers always welcomed my questions and always returned phone calls and emails. The staff, all of the way up to the Principal, encouraged my involvement. The Principal leads by example and is available day or night. We loved the small class size and that every teacher had an aid. Because of its charter school status, the school has a broader range of what programs and curriculum it can offer - unlike a traditional public school that has mandated programs. My daughters thrived at the FHCS academically and made lasting friendships. I,too, made lasting friendships with both the staff as well as other parents."

"This school suffers a lack of strong principal leadership, an incompetent PTO, and an environment that lacks integrity and professionalism. My child went here a year ago and it was the worst mistake we ever made. We were misled by the principal and the administrator that this school had a fabulous middle school program. This so called middle school only had one 8th grader and a few 7th graders. My daughter was never given homework and the teacher was more into herself than teaching the kids. It took my daughter awhile to finally catch up to the curriculum at her new school (which is a public school). Because this school lacks the funds, the property is deteriorating. My daughter came home a few times very ill because of the stench in the gymnasium/lunchroom/P.E. room. They have no maintenance staff, no buses, no lunch program, no onsite nurse, no counselor, and apparently no funds to use for such important things. Please do your research before considering this school."
