    "Trying to maintain high standards but with a high ESL program it is difficult. Extracurricular activities are many and vaired. Anything a highschool aged person could be interested in is offered...from sports to chess clubs. Something for all ethnic groups too. Parental involvement is always welcome"

    "East Leyden High School is an average school. Recently, there have been changes in the teaching staff as many of the older teachers have retired. Their test scores compared to other area high schools are lower and they do not focus the child on obtaining a college education."
