"My daughter is in kindergarten and just loves it. I can't say enough good things about Lanigan and the very dedicated staff. The only reason why this school has a problem with test scores is because they take in most of the special education children in the area and the tests are not geared towards children with learning disablilities. Therefore the overall test scores are down making it appear that the school itself is lacking. Not so as my daughter has just blossomed into a smart and social little girl. We purposely bought a house in the Lanigan school district knowing full well that we'd be paying a lot more for a house in this area than in other parts of the city. The cost is well worth it to be able to send our children to the best elementary school in the city."

"I have 3 children, 2 are in Lanigan now, the 3rd went to Lanigan all of her elementary years and graduates from Fulton's G. Ray Bodley High School in June. I have seen many changes there, mostly for the good. Lanigan implements programs that the rest of the school district later also use, like PBIS (Positive Behavior in School). I have worked at Lanigan as an aide and a monitor and years ago put in many hours volunteering. The test scores do NOT show the dedication that our staff has. The scores also don't take into account the amount of children our school has with disabilities or the children where English is a 2nd language for them. Thank you Lanigan staff!"

"My son in in Kindergarten and is having a wonderful experience. They have had a lot of bad publicity because of poor test scores. It should be considered that Lanigan takes in the majority of special ed students. These student are not typically high scorers. However, that does not mean that the teachers are not dedicated to these students as well as all of the others. They too are making progress, and that is what we want. They will most likely not be level 3's and 4's on the state test, but they are improving socially and academically at their own expected rate. My son loves his teachers and the PALS group is unbelievably strong and organized."

"Lanigan is one of the best elementary schools in this area. There is a alot of parental involvement through their PALS (Parents at Lanigan School) organization. They plan after school activities such as Family fun nights, Family picnics, arts and craft events to let parents experience school with their children as well as giving students a break from the norm. As far as academics, my daughter is a kindergartner, but she has raved about her teacher so I know her school experience, thus far, has been positive. I'm so glad she attends this school!"
