"Glen Burnie High School offers a magnet program called Bio-Medical and Allied Health(BMAH), to allow students to get a better understanding of the different types of medical fields and to gain academic experiences that most students will not obtain until college. I was a part of this magnet program from my freshman to throughout my senior year. because I am studying to become a veterinarian. The high school offered me the chance to go on a variety of job shadows where I can look into the medical field. The school also required me to do an internship between the summer of my junior and senior year. This requirement encouraged me to look for my own internship at a veterinarian clinic called, "Noah's Ark Veterinary and Boarding Resort." My internship was one of my favorite experiences where I got to be in the surgery room to watch surgeries as well as help the vets during an exam in the exam rooms. Glen Burnie High School was like a second home to me, I would be at the high school at 7:00am in the morning, after school for help in classes (specifically math), and until 9:00pm when my indoor drum-line and indoor color guard practices would end. There is no other high school I would have preferred to go to."

"This school has many ups and downs as expected from such a large school. Educationally, there are classes that are complete jokes or treated as jokes by the teachers and it makes the whole experience worse. But there are also great classes that are fun and very educational. The after school activities are something to admire here, being a part of the dance clubs was the best decision I made. You make a lot of friends in these types of activities, many people do sports or drama and become great friends within those groups. For me, being in dance classes definitely challenged me to become not only a better dancer but to become a better person - and to become something bigger than myself. I would go to this school again if I could do it over, and I'd probably get involved in even more activities."

"The teachers are incredibly supportive of the students, and will go out of their way to help them. Not only do the teachers help academically but they are also willing to talk to students about personal issues."

"The scheduling process was easy, if there were any problems all you had to do was talk to your counselor ad everything would get worked out. The teachers were very supportive with the students choices in what classes would be best for them."
