    "New Trier was a very academic school with an underlying pressure to get really good grades. Many teachers and students focused so much on grades and standardized test scores, which made it a very competitive environment. One thing I didn't like was how staff and students would belittle the idea of going to community college, almost like you were a failure if you went there. I think since many students families are affluent in the area, teachers may think that their students can get into any college they want. Overall my experience was very academic oriented, but I had fun with the the extra curricular activities I became involved in."

    "New Trier was a very competitive high school. The students were all perfectionists who never experienced a grade lower than an A, and enrolled in the hard, rigorous courses. I felt like I didn't fit in at New trier because of my family's financial situation. My senior year my family moved, and I had to transfer to Glenbrook South High School. I end up liking it a million times more than New Trier."

    "There are different levels of classes. Level 2 is regular, level 3 is Honors, and level 4 is essentially AP credit. My freshman year of high school, I was placed in all honors, and struggled the whole entire year. The problem at New Trier is that they push you to take difficult classes, and don't realize that everyone can handle it. After freshman year, I moved down to regular classes. Honors were the most praised, so i again felt excluded amongst my peers."
